Why It Matters

Inaccessible Websites Are a Real Risk

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. Businesses open to the public are regularly challenged over websites that people using screen readers, keyboards or magnification cannot use.

The fix is not a widget. It is a website whose code, content and design work for everyone. That is what we audit for, build and maintain.

ADA and Website Accessibility at a Glance

A plain-language summary, not legal advice. Confirm your obligations with an attorney.

Private businesses

Title III of the ADA covers businesses open to the public. The regulations do not set a specific website standard, so WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the benchmark most commonly used in audits, settlements and remediation plans.

State & local government

Under Title II, the Department of Justice adopted WCAG 2.1 AA for government websites and apps. Compliance dates were extended in 2026: April 26, 2027 for larger entities and April 26, 2028 for smaller ones.

Healthcare & federal funding

Organizations that receive federal funding, including many healthcare providers, may have separate Section 504 digital accessibility deadlines. Check the current status with your counsel.

What We Do

Audit, Fix, Stay Accessible

WCAG 2.1 AA audit

Automated scans plus manual testing with keyboard only and screen readers, on the pages and templates that matter most.

Prioritized report

Every issue explained in plain language, with severity, location and the fix, so your team knows exactly what to do first.

Remediation

We fix the issues on your website, or work alongside your developers, then re-test to verify.

Accessible rebuild

When fixing costs more than rebuilding, we build a new site that is accessible from the first wireframe.

Accessibility statement

A public statement and a feedback channel so visitors can report barriers and request help.

Ongoing monitoring

Regular scans and fixes in our care plans, because every new page can introduce new barriers.

Quick fixes that cover up the real problem

Overlay Widgets Do Not Make a Site Compliant

Toolbar overlays that promise one-click ADA compliance cannot fix problems in your site's code, such as unlabelled forms, keyboard traps or missing headings. Many accessibility experts and disabled users report that they can make websites harder to use.

Durable accessibility comes from fixing the website itself, and documenting what you fixed.

Ask a Question

If your business is open to the public, your website is widely treated as part of how you serve customers, and it is regularly challenged under Title III. An attorney can advise on your specific situation.
